بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
On Rabiʻ I 25, 1446 AH corresponding to 28th September 2024, I (Abu Sakeenah Abdur Razaq al-Athari) met with the Mufti of the Ahlul Hadeeth and Mufti of Makkah, Shaykh Wasīullah Abbās. حفظه الله

We studied Hadeeth from Kitāb as-Salah at the Shaykh’s class on the Sharh (explanation) of Sahīh Muslim. Thereafter, we prayed Isha Salah in the Haram after the Adhaan was called. By the permission of Allāh, I was able to meet the Shaykh outside Safaa & Marwah. We conversed together in Urdu. I gave Salaam to the Shaykh, introduced myself to him and informed him that I am a student at Umm Al Qura University in Makkah. I sought his advice regarding seeking knowledge. The Shaykh حفظه الله turned his face to me, shook my hand and smiled at me. Then he said to me in Urdu: “Work hard! Focus on seeking knowledge and keep away from spending too much time on your phone (social media) as it is very time consuming and it is a distraction for a student of knowledge. Keep away from the quarrels of people and bickering between some students of knowledge, and strive hard to seek knowledge!”

Shaykh Wasīullāh Abbās حفظه الله teaches on the chair of the Ahlul Hadeeth. This chair is known as the chair of the Ahlul Hadeeth in Masjid al-Haram, Makkah.
